International Day 2018

International Day 2018

International Day 2018 was celebrated with an array of music, food and fun on Thursday 25th January. This event, celebrating the wide cultural diversity of the school community and it’s 40 different nationalities witnessed students dressing in national costumes, colours and sports kits in an opportunity to allow students to teach each other about their heritage. It was evident that participants had put in a lot of effort with many displays of facts, maps, music and native food generously on offer.

Every class group had an opportunity to visit the showcase and gain a greater appreciation of the diversity among us. A variety of activities took place throughout the day including a quiz and a fashion show and later in the afternoon a visit by Deirdre Clune, MEP who met and chatted to many of those hosting displays. The day helped broaden students’ horizons and afforded an opportunity to learn more about their classmates’ cultures, food and languages, while forming a greater understanding of their own place in the wider community and as global citizens.

Thanks to everyone involved in ensuring this day was a success.
